William (Bill) Downing has over 15 years global leadership and management experience across both private and not-for-profit sectors.
He has extensive experience in delivering strategic organisational growth by catalysing change and innovation, building effective partnerships and platforms for collaboration and engagement across multiple stakeholders and creating enabling conditions, systems and teams.
As the head of Downing Advisory, William has:
- worked as the strategic advisor for Young Agripreneurs Project (YAP),
- strengthened management strategy and systems for Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) livestock research programme
- and guided business expansion in Indonesia for Alderdice Brassfounders.
He has also worked with the Global Forum for Agricultural Research to build a coalition of partners in Kenya, Ghana and Senegal. This coalition designed, implemented and evaluated a project to empower women agripreneurs to run thriving, sustainable businesses that ensure their families’ livelihood.
