Seren pioneered the first scientific study on millennial leadership worldwide as a cross-continental study in doctoral form at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Utrecht University and Varna University of Management in collaboration with various stakeholders. She sheds light on a conscious and empowered proportion of youth leaders within the millennial generation and brings together theory and practice, as well as science and society.
Seren is the originator and Co-founder of the Synergized Earth Network (SEN). SEN is a global value-driven network uniting leaders across generations to tackle the most pressing challenges of our time. Based on her evidence-based work, Seren is also the initiator of Millennial Motion: The Next Generation of Leadership that addresses the role of young people in global change processes.
Previously she co-founded the Lost Faces Foundation that works on human rights and particularly youth empowerment and gender equality. She designed educational curriculums on the right of self-determination and self-development of young people and made television documentaries about violations of human rights like honour-related violence.
As a lifelong learner, leadership educator, social scientist, public speaker, coach, consultant, writer and value-based entrepreneur, Seren has been involved in a wide range of global leadership programmes across 28 countries and six continents. She is closely engaged with youth leaders worldwide.
Seren has extensive experience leadership and organisational development, the non-profit sector, multi-stakeholder partnerships and in supporting start-ups. She is passionate about creating conducive environments for lifelong learning in which individuals can discover their purpose and realise their human potential. She believes the importance of intergenerational and multisectoral collaboration is key for creating a more just, peaceful and sustainable world.
In recognition of her contribution to both Dutch society and the global community Seren has won numerous awards for academic excellence, leadership development and societal engagement. Among them, she was listed as one of the 100 forerunners and most sustainable youth leaders in the Netherlands in the DJ100 list as well as the Honorary Global Ambassador of Sustainable Development Leadership of the Commonwealth Science and Technology of Academic Research (C-STAR) Institute.
