Inky Gibbens is the Founder of Tribalingual – an online cultural discovery platform that exists to protect and propagate intangible cultural heritage like language, music, songs, traditions, and stories.
Originally from Mongolia, Inky grew up in a yurt just outside Ulaanbaatar. She studied Language Endangerment at the universities of Leeds, Glasgow and Aberdeenin the UK. She has taught Mongolian and Russian at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, UK. She has also worked in a few London-based education technology (edtech) startups.
Growing up, Inky was very shy and had very little confidence until she founded Tribalingual. She absolutely hated public speaking.
Now, she leads a team of seven and give talks both locally, as well as internationally. She enjoys standing up in front of people and talking about a topic that deeply resonates with her and one that is of incredible importance – worldwide language and cultural loss.
