Throughout Dr Huanyu Cheng’s research career, he has worked on mechanics design and the manufacturing of biologically inspired electronics with applications in robotics, biomedicine, and energy.
Huanyu has co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, and his work has been recognised through the reception of awards and honours including:
- Forbes 30 Under 30 2017 in Science
- election to the Global Young Academy
- a Haythornthwaite Research Initiation Grant from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) from 2016 to 2018
- and Best Paper Award in ASME Applied Mechanics Division Student Paper Competition.
Huanyu serves as associate editor for Computers in Biology and Medicine, editorial board member for Informatics in Medicine Unlocked, and reviewer for over 40 international journals.
Working on interdisciplinary research projects that bridge engineering and medicine, Huanyu would like to bring the passion for exploration and discovery to the people he works with.
