Smriti Sonam is a business project manager in travel and technology, who engages in projects at the United Nations (UN).
She is a representative of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). She has represented Global Youth at the United Nations and has been actively involved in human rights activities at the UN for the past four years.
Smriti co-chaired the Right to Development Youth Summit held in 2013 and 2014 at the UN in Geneva. She has also participated and co-presented reports in sessions of the Working Group on the Right to Development at the Human Rights Council, at the Palais des Nations.
In 2015 and 2016, Smriti co-organised the International Youth Summits at the UN in Geneva, attracting the participation of young delegates from several countries. Smriti focuses on bringing youth issues to the forefront of the United Nations and highlighting these issues in the context of development.
An engineer in biotechnology, Smriti is also a qualified management consultant with extensive work experience of more than eight years in IT and consulting. She excels in project management, marketing and business development.
