Renard Siew is attached to Group Sustainability at Sime Darby, a multinational conglomerate based in South East Asia.
He was previously a post-doctoral teaching fellow and a researcher at the Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets (CEEM), University of South Wales (UNSW), Australia. His research interest lies in:
- sustainability and integrated reporting
- environmental, social and governance (ESG) research
- socially responsible investment – across different asset classes such as equities, infrastructure and property and real estate
- climate change and sustainable construction for the building and infrastructure sector.
Renard did his PhD and bachelors in Civil Engineering at UNSW and a post-graduate certificate in Sustainable Value Chains at the University of Cambridge. In 2013, he was selected as one of 15 international scholars to attend the PhD Academy at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH).
He has been published in several international refereed journals and won many awards and scholarships.
Professionally, Renard is a Green Star Accredited Professional and holds a Certificate in International Auditing as well as the Certificate in International Financial Reporting Systems. He is a member of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), Transparency International and the Network for Sustainable Financial Markets.
