Nokwanda Thulile Mathenjwa

Nokwanda Thulile Mathenjwa is an economist by trade and a strategist by profession.

She holds a post-graduate diploma in Business Administration from the Gordon Institute of Business Science, and a bachelors with distinction in Eonomics and Econometrics.

Nokwanda has also studied Programme and Project Management at Wits Graduate School of Public Development and Management, and Development Theory and Policy at the University of Witwatersrand.

In 2016 Nokwanda was one of 700 selected to attend a Global Entrepreneurship Summit hosted by President Barack Obama, in recognition of her startup, Yamilet SA. This is a mobile boutique that enables women to buy and sell branded pre-loved clothes in Johannesburg.

Nokwanda has worked as a strategist and in strategy managment, developing business plans, managing projects and analysing business operations for a variety of organisations, including:

  • Manager of Strategy and Strategic Projects at Nedbank
  • as Strategy and Business Analyst, and later Strategy Manager, at Barloworld Equipment
  • and as Segment Intelligence Consultant at Standard Bank.
