Huma Mahmud has over 16 years of work experience in both the development and the corporate sector. She has worked with organisations focused on community health, mental health and with corporate organisations such as Unilever, GSK, Engro Foods and the Citizens Foundation.
Huma is currently the Head of Partnerships and Business Development for the Punjab Skills Development Fund. This is a not-for-profit fund that invests in developing vocational skills in poor and vulnerable young people in Punjab – the largest province of Pakistan with a population of 100 million.
Huma is a Ponds Miracle Woman – an award given in Pakistan to 100 women who have excelled professionally despite personal hurdles. She is also:
- a Member of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform Committee
- a Trustee of Ahsaas Trust – a non-governmental organisation (NGO) focused on health and education
- and a mentor and counsellor for a number of other programmes.
