Halimat Akinde Afolasade is the Founder of Ability in Disability, now House of Tamah. This non-governmental organisation (NGO) is dedicated to empowering the physically challenged with income-generating activities, through vocational and entrepreneurial training.
She has been actively involved in community service for the past eight years.
Halimat has strong negotiation and advocacy skills, which has helped her to secure scholarships –for tuition fee and feeding intervention programme – for indigent physically challenged students.
Halimat has a bachelors and masters in Food Processing and Storage Technology from the Department of Food Science and Technology, Federal University of Agriculture, Nigeria.
In 2015 she earned a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Studies from the Young African Leaders Initiative, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra in Ghana.
