Faustine Wabwire is the Senior Foreign Assistance Policy Analyst at the Bread for the World Institute. At the Institute, she provides thought leadership on global issues including:
- food security and nutrition
- climate change
- and the role of United States and multilateral assistance in providing solutions.
She recently worked with theInstitute staff on the 2015 Hunger Report, When Women Flourish ...We Can End Hunger.
Prior to joining Bread for the World Institute, Faustine held a number of positions in academia, research, and international development. She has worked with agencies at national, regional, and global level, and has published extensively. She is also a regular commentator on Voice of America TV and Radio as well as several other media outlets in the United States.
Given her broad and in-depth understanding on global development issues, Faustine represents Bread for the World in several high-level forums – such as briefings with members of Congress, the White House, the private sector and others.
Her dedication to improving the lives of struggling populations through institutional capacity strengthening is valued by institutions such as the World Food Prize Foundation.
Faustine participates in the annual World Food Prize Expert Lecture series, and as faculty expert at the Global Youth Institute of the Word Food Prize.
Faustine speaks Kiswahili, some French, and English. She is a dedicated mentor to young people, equipping them with the tools to help them achieve their fullest potential so that they may contribute to society.
