Elena Alekseeva is the Commercial Leader of EMEA, GE Renewable Energy, Onshore Wind London, UK.
Elena was born in Moscow, Russia. She attended the University of Grenoble, France where she attained a BA Honours in Economics with Mathematics, and continued her studies at the University of Cambridge, graduating with a Masters (MPhil) in Environmental Policy.
Elena started her career in London as a consultant at a major real estate advisory firm, helping the largest European property investors and fund managers to embark on a path towards an energy efficient and environmentally friendly property sector.
As the ‘green building’ trend was becoming the mainstream industry approach, Elena became responsible for developing and growing the service offering. This included the expansion into Continental Europe.
Elena joined GE in 2012 to enable GE Capital Real Estate business to mature their approach towards de-carbonisation and environmental performance in buildings, working with various GE businesses to explore options for deploying GE technologies.
Elena’s next role in GE involved developing and delivering a robust enterprise risk framework across a $100 billion, mainly heavily-regulated, consumer and commercial finance portfolio across Europe and Asia. Elena drove a major simplification effort to streamline and enhance various risk-management work streams.
She joined GE Renewable Energy business in October 2016 and has been involved in some high-profile onshore wind deals in the Nordics and Central and Eastern Europe.
