Eileen Wakesho Mwagae

Eileen Wakesho Mwagae is the Women Land Rights Adviser at Oxfam International.

In this role, she fcarries out influencing work that draws on national work and grassroots women's experiences, and highlights women's land and property rights in all relevant policy arenas globally.

To do this, she supports the design of research and advocacy work in countries, while linking it to the Pan Africa institutions and other international spaces of influence.

She also supports the co-ordination of the Civil Society Platform on land in Africa. This is a platform that helps grassroots organisations, social movements and a wide range of civil society organisations (CSOs) to collaborate and position the land agenda in the wider African Union.

Prior to joining Oxfam, Eileen worked with:

  • Kenya Land Alliance
  • Development Policy Management Forum
  • and Kenya Institute for Public Policy, Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) focusing on women land rights, land governance and land and conflicts.
