Chinemerem Onwuliri is a medical doctor at the Department of Community Medicine at the University of Nigeria, with interests in:
- public health research
- health systems
- health IT
- and community development.
Chinemerem trained at the University of Jos. Here he led the Medical Students’ Association and trained peer health educators for the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa (SWAAN) in Plateau State.
He has a masters in Public Health from the Bloomberg School at Johns Hopkins University in the USA, where he led the African Public Health Network.
Chinemerem has extensive experience in health development. He has worked with many young people on community-based projects aimed at providing:
- career direction
- health priorities
- and local leadership in communities.
Chinemerem is passionate about the need for sustainable funding for health systems and building the right capacity that will change the health outcomes of Nigerians and Africans as a whole. He is an avid reader, researcher and mentor to many of the young Nigerians he teaches .
