Tony Joy is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of MAD Kraft – a social enterprise that creates wealth and art from waste through the active involvement of women and girls in communities.
She is also the founder of Durian, a social enterprise that empowers rural and marginalised communities by helping them to turn their local waste into value while regaining their dignity.
Her journey in social development began with organising a clean-up exercise in over eight states in Nigeria. Now, she works from Imafon, a rural community in Akure, Ondo State, to empower rural dwellers with skills on how waste can create wealth and art, while creating the solution to other social problems.
Tony is a graduate of English from Obafemi Awolowo University and a 2015 Queen Young Leader. She is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society and a Volunteer Youth Activist for Ignite Youth Africa. In 2016, she won an award for her environmental interventions from Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ).
