Shivani Mathur Gaiha

Shivani is a PhD student at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) where she is currently exploring the effects of a pilot, youth-driven arts programme to break the silence and stigma around mental health. 

The project is called Creative Reflection and Expression through Art to Transform Opinions Regarding Stigma (CREATORS) associated with mental health problems.

A 2016 Queen’s Young Leader, Shivani is passionate about improving the mental health of young people in India. She uses her skills to enable people to understand and access information on mental health.

Her research at LSHTM is supported by the Public Health Foundation of India and its the Wellcome Trust Capacity Building Programme.
