Rakitha Malewana is a Sri Lankan medical inventor, entrepreneur, and youth activist.
His basic research work is primarily based on medical and molecular biology with a special interest in HIV and cancer.
He started his research work at the age of 15 and later developed a groundbreaking nano-vaccine for HIV which has been discussed on many national and international platforms.
In 2012, Rakitha established a non-profit organisation, Hamzter Ideanerd Sri Lanka, which encourages innovation among school children.
Rakitha is currently working as a youth activist and fighting for the rights of HIV positive individuals to make his community free from associated stigma and discrimination.
