Rahat Hossain is the Co-founder and Programme Director of Criticalink, which was founded in 2015.
Rahat volunteered in several organisations during his education. At the age of 17, he established a chapter of People to People International in Dhaka.
In 2013 he volunteered to help after the devasting collapse of a five-storey building in Dhaka, known as Rana Plaza. He was struck by the huge lack of co-ordinated medical care.
This prompted him to enter an Alumni Small Grant Competition from the US State Department, from which he received a grant. He used the money to design and implement a three-day training session for 'first responders' focusing on fire safety, first aid, and disaster management.
