Petrider Paul is a youth advocate, girl’s rights defender and one of the Queen’s Young Leaders Award winners of 2016. She is passionate about ending gender-based violence.
Petrider is the founder of Voice Out Against Gender-Based Violence Initiative, which works to empower gender-based violence survivors to champion change. She is also the Co-founder of Youth for Change, Tanzania, a movement of young people working to end child forced marriage, female genital mutilation and teenage pregnancies.
Petrider is the team leader for My Health, My Value, a Queen’s Young Leaders Legacy Network Project.
She serves on the UNFPA Tanzania Youth Advisory Panel, where she assists in communications, partnership and advocacy work at Children’s Dignity Forum Tanzania. She is also a programme officer at the Department for International Development (DFID), Tanzania.
Petrider is among the first UK Government Department for International Development Youth Advisory Panel from Tanzania in 2016. She is also Tanzania Young Professionals Awards 2016 first runner-up, a One Young World Ambassador and Akili Dada Fellow 2017.
She is the country representative of the African Youth Union Commission (AUYC) and a member of the East African Community Youth Ambassadors Platform.
