Many township residents in South Africa are not registered citizens, and without identification documents it is difficult for them to work or sit school exams.

Wanting to help these residents, in 2013 Patrice founded the project Cupcake ReSolution, which project hosts mobile offices to enable people to register as citizens. As another way to reach out to the community, Cupcake ReSolution also takes cupcakes into schools for children who have never celebrated birthdays.

Her work with Cupcake ReSolution was recognised when she won a Queen's Young Leaders Award in 2015.

Patrice is also a LeadSA Hero as well as an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society. She is a Co-director of the Gauteng Media Development Project, which launched a community-based radio station in northern Johannesburg.
