Raised in one of Jamaica’s most disadvantaged communities, Jerome feared he was heading in the wrong direction. Realising problems in his community stemmed from a lack of youth support, he co-founded Leaders Endeavouring for Adolescent Development (LEAD). The project provides personal development opportunities for young people, so they will go on to better futures.
In 2014, Jerome became the first Jamaican to win the CIVICUS Nelson Mandela Innovation Award. In 2015, he became a Queen’s Young Leader and a Chevening Scholar.
He currently works for Rise Life Management Services in Jamaica and is an advisor to the Jamaican Government.
