Ashleigh Smith is a student and Queen's Young Leader from the small rural community of Naseby, near Otago and Southland, New Zealand.
In 2013 she co-founded the anti-bullying organisation, Sticks 'n' Stones, at the age of 15. At her own local Sticks 'n' Stones division, Ashleigh organised and hosted events for young people and parents to raise awareness about cyber bullying.
Passionate about mental health, Ashleigh has mentored young people in schools throughout Central Otago and Dunedin, helped students to run workshops about bullying and mental health, and worked with the New Zealand government to help inform their policy-making on bullying and social media.
She is currently working towards two degrees at the Polytechnic of Otago, Nursing and Leadership for Change.
