Aleksandra Bilic is a creative producer, film maker, script writer and founder of Page She – a video project that helps to tackle the misrepresentation and lack of female voice and gaze in the media.
Aleksandra came to England as a refugee from Sarajevo, in what was then known as Yugoslavia. Tragically, the region descended into a genocide that eventually claimed around 250,000 lives and displaced many more. Today, she uses her experience to educate and encourage cultural dialogue between all sorts of people through storytelling.
Aleksandra is an alumna of the Berlinale Talents programme. She has worked with Roast Beef Productions, Lemonade Money and My Accomplice Limited and was selected for the Sheffield Doc Fest Future Producers School 2016.
Aleksandra shared her story with #LCJB winner, Jade Jackman, on how one's experience can become a driving force for change.
