Kwan Wei Kevin Tan: #LCJB17 winner, Asia

Kevin regularly contributes articles to Your Commonwealth, a youth blog supported by the Commonwealth Youth Programme. In June 2016, he was selected as Commonwealth Correspondent of the Month.

Kevin has served as a volunteer judge for the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition, and is one of the inaugural participants of the Arts House’s Young Critics Mentorship Programme.

His literary reviews have been published in the Quarterly Literary Review Singapore and Cha: An Asian Literary Journal.

As a student at Hwa Chong Institution (HCI), Kevin pursued his passion for scientific research. His research project, Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles, was selected by the Ministry Of Education (MOE) to represent Singapore at:

  • the 8th Regional Congress: Search for SEAMEO Young Scientists in Penang, Malaysia, in 2012
  • and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, held in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2013.

Recently, Kevin completed his military service with the Singapore Armed Forces. He looks forward to pursuing a degree in Business Administration at the National University of Singapore.
