Farah Abdi: #LCJB16 winner, Europe

Farah Abdi is a 2016 Queen’s Young Leader, a blogger for Malta Today and the author of the recently published Never Arrive – the story of a refugee's journey from Kenya to Malta.

Farah is highlighting the perspectives of the refugee crisis in a monthly blog for Leading Change, covering the stories of women, children, people with disabilities and those who are Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI).

“The world is experiencing a crisis way beyond the one after the Second World War,” says Farah. “I realised that the biggest obstacle to integration was fear of the unknown. Without the right communication channels refugees are never going to be accepted.”
