Dr Nicola Byrom studies learning and cognitive processes in healthy people and vulnerable groups, in order to better understand risk and etiology and inform prevention and intervention.
In 2009 Nicola graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Psychology. She went on to Oxford University where she completed a PhD in psychology and co-founded Student Minds – the UK’s student mental health charity.
Student Minds empowers students by equipping them with the knowledge, confidence and skills to look after their own mental health and support others through a national network of university groups.
In 2015, Nicola won a Queen's Young Leaders Award.
